Day 7

today is day 7 of incarceration! payton woke up fever-free!! whoop!!

anyway, i thought i'd take advantage of my last day at home and do something productive. look at our new & improved "junk" drawer! i just wish it would stay this way longer than a day!! what i really wish...is that i would have taken a before picture...then you would REALLY be impressed!

Lunar Eclipse

how 'bout that lunar eclipse?!? we camped out on our loft and watched it! i'm pretty sure the kiddos were just trying to stay up past bedtime! but reagan convinced us that this was his "homework"!! anyway, it was great fun!

We Call This "The Motrin High"

payton & i have definitely spent some quality time together since saturday. so long as the motrin is workin', life is good!! today is day 4 & we played with webkins, scrapbooked, played uno, watched tv, and did a little laundry. i think that about sums up our day!

Payton Update

well, we went to the doctor today. payton has the flu!! no, we didn't get flu shots this year, yes, we will next year!!!

She Is A Bit Like Me

anyone who can nap in this uncomfortable position has to be related to me!! anyway, for those of you that know p-rae had a very high temp this morning, she is doing much better! by the time i got home from church it was up to 106!! now, for some reason, my nurse NEVER wants us to come in. i thought this time would be different because of the crazy-high fever...nope! she just said to alternate between motrin & tylenol all day. well, of course she was right!! which i'm glad, but hey for my peace of mind, just let me bring her in!!!! i have one of those fancy "new-fangled" temporal lobe thermometers, i'm just hopin' it reads high! (although, the nurse assured us that her high temp "wouldn't fry her brain"!!! who says that??!!!??!) ok, i'll stop rambling now! thanks for all of the calls checking on her! as you can see she's getting some "good" rest! :)

I'm A "Stopper"

have you ever heard of the game ruk shuk?? it's a race against time to build different rock formations. sounds easy, huh, not so much! payton learned today that her mom is no risk taker, or as she likes to call me...a stopper! she presses on 100% of the time trying to build the entire formation even if that means it crashing at the last second! i so want to live life like that! no matter what shes doing, even if she's afraid, she gives it all she's got! i love that about her! (thankfully, she takes after shane!) maybe one day when i grow up i can be just like her & i hope that's a trait she hangs onto forever!!

Remember When...

remember when losing a tooth brought pure joy?? well, now it really grosses me out! payton knows that so she kept asking, "do you want to see me wobble it?? hee hee!" when i went to bed she still had a tooth...when i woke up this morning this is what i saw! how cute is she?? unfortunately that joy was short lived...she woke up with one less tooth & 102 temp!! fortunately, the motrin has kicked in and she just killed me in 5 straight games of uno!! (and no, i didn't "let" her win!)

Yes, We Own a Rat!

but not just any rat...this is a fancy rat...and i have the paperwork to prove it! :) oreo loves this denim hammock shane custom made for him! i was telling this story at lunch yesterday and was told that i probably shouldn't tell people about this! but i'm a rebel that way! so here he is in all of his glory...one big, fat, lazy, happy, fancy rat!!
